Alzheimer’s, An Urgent Epidemic.
Alzheimer’s has no mercy, and, presently, no cure. Furthermore, it plays no favorites; attacking both sexes of any race, regardless where they live. Out of every ten people over the age of 65, the plodding, lethal disease, assaults one.
Alzheimer’s attacks your brain, when irregular protein fragments, called plaques and tangles, destroy brain cells. The fragments first target the hippocampus, where your brain forms and retains memories. After the fragments destroy this area, you cannot remember recent events; finally, remembering anything is impossible.
After destroying the hippocampus, Alzheimer’s spreads throughout your brain, and you begin the trek through the stages of Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s takes eight to ten years to destroy your brain; death comes with the destruction of brain cells that control breathing and the heart.
